Alice F. (Racette) McGrath, age 94, of Omro went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 6, 2018. She was born in Gaastra, Michigan on September 17, 1924, to the late Henry and Alida (Lacousier) Racette. Alice moved to Menasha and started working at the George Banta Co. and became a member of its 25-year club. She retired in 1977 and moved to California where she worked for a few years, before moving to Arizona, Arkansas, and then back to Menasha. For 3 years Alice lived in Winneconne before becoming a resident of Omro Care Center.
She was a seamstress for many years, loved to cross-stitch, and knitted many baby blankets which she donated to different places for unwed mothers. Her afghans were just beautiful and she quilted until she was 90 years old.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Patti Santos, of Arkansas; a brother, Raymond Racette, of Appleton; many nephews, nieces, including a niece from Connecticut, Sandra Moline; her very good friends and caregivers, Lola and Clay LeMere, of Winneconne.
Preceding Alice in death were her sisters, Gladys Owen, Dorothy Racette, Beatrice Mullins, Delores DeTroye, Marcella Yaggie, Janet Goddus; and brothers, Donald and Arthur Racette.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Sr. Pam Biehl officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
