MARNmentors Final Exhibit

The MARNmentors Final Exhibit is currently being finalized but we can tell you that it will definitely be held virtually and we are also hoping to be able to host it in person with limited capacity. For now these are the details we can confirm:

August 7th – August 28th, 2020

Opening Reception Friday Aug 7th 11:00am-8pm (if we can have small in person gatherings, details on getting tickets to come)

Between Two Galleries

706 S 5th St, Milwaukee, WI 53204

(use the Hawthorne Contemporary entrance)

Our current plan is to have both in person and virtual reality versions of the show. Please stay tuned for updates and further website information. As you can imagine the in person viewing possibility relies on the Covid 19 city and state mandates.

COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) NOTICE: MARN continues to monitor statements from Federal, State, and local government officials for information related to this pandemic. The safety of our community is our highest priority and we will employ all appropriate measures to limit the spread of this virus. Until such time comes that public officials have informed us that attendees of public gatherings are safe, all MARN related public events are on hold.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

MARNmentors pairs an established and emerging artist in a season long mentorship. Within these exchanges, mentors help mentees develop project goals and overcome personal barriers that the mentee may identify. The hope is to empower and give accountability to the partnership so that 1) the mentor feels free to give aesthetic, moral and concrete support based on their experience; and 2) the mentee is able to hold themselves accountable to their own goals.

MARNmentors application for mentees is now closed. Keep checking back as the new season will be opening in the second part of 2020.

2019/2020 MARNmentors

In 2005, Milwaukee Artist Resource Network developed MARNmentors for visual and literary artists, filmmakers, composers and arts administrators in order to strengthen the network of support for artists, provide in-depth professional resources and contribute to the health of Wisconsin’s arts community. MARN acts as a liaison between established working artists with a desire to pass on their knowledge and professional experience to emerging artists who are selected as MARNmentees. MARN was proud to partner 17 Mentors with 21 Mentees for the 2018/2019 program!
